 How far is Playa del Carmen from Cancun?
Playa del Carmen is 50 km south of Cancun's international airport.

We are in the north side of Playa del Carmen right behind the Shangri-la Caribe Hotel.
How is driving in Mexico?
There is a 4-lane highway from Cancun to Playa del Carmen that makes it very simple drive between the two cities. There are a couple of important things to remember. When making any turn in Mexico always look in front and behind to make sure traffic is clear before you make your turn. Do not stop in the middle of the road.
Beware when turning left from the highway... Turn left from the highway only if there is a special lane provided for you. These left turn lanes are marked by reflectors in the road. Regardless whether there is a lane or not, it is absolutely critical to look in front and behind to make sure traffic is clear.
When making a left turn from the highway in areas where a dedicated lane is not provided pull off the road to your right, put your left blinker or emergency flashers on and wait for all traffic to clear in both directions. With no one else in either direction make your left turn.
Be alert on your drive south from the airport… At Puerto Morelos and Playa del Carmen there are cement medians that divide the highway. Reflectors in the road mark these medians. Please be careful not to hit them.
Is it better to rent a car?
That depends on how much you want to go for tours. Here in Playa del Carmen it is easy to walk or catch a taxi. You can as well rent the car here for a day or two. So if you think you are going out of town then you need a car. If not just take a taxi or walk.
How do I pay for things in Playa del Carmen?
You can pay either in cash, traveler checks, pesos or using your credit card . It is recommended to bring some money in U.S. cash or traveler checks and exchange for pesos to pay in the small places and gas stations. You can as well use the ATM machines to withdrawal cash as well.
How far is downtown Playa del Carmen?
It is a 10 minute walk from Natz Ti Ha to central Playa del Carmen.
How far is the beach?
It is just a 2 minutes walk from your condominium.
How often is there maid service?
You will get one cleaning in the middle of the week. If you need more we can provide with an extra cost.
Is it safe to drink water?
You will get a 4-gallon bottle of water in the condominium for you to drink, once it is finished please ask any of the security guards for another one. Never drink water from the tap, and ask for bottled water in restaurants. Ice is safe in all local restaurants and bars.
What about tipping?
Normally the tip at a restaurant is 10%, more if you think you had very good service. You can tip the maid with $6 to $10 per week.
What if I need a doctor?
There are several doctors that can come to your condominium to care for you. Just let us know and we will contact a doctor for you. They all speak English.
